Men’sWellness

“Men are told what we’re NOT supposed to be what but what we ARE supposed to be is very nebulous. Collectively, men are in an identity crisis. The social scripts of the past, the way our fathers were - stoicism, humility, hardworking, disciplined, sacrifice, emotional coolness - these were all things we were raised in and they don’t fit anymore. The consequences of this lack of identity are mounting: there’s addiction, suicide, rampant porn use, loneliness. A lot of guys are excelling professionally but quietly they are disintegrating.”

Promoting Wholeness

Men grow up without many spaces to talk openly about friendship, career pressure, dating, sexuality, fatherhood, family expectations, or mental health issues. Individual therapy offers a thoughtful environment for those conversations. There is immense cultural pressure for men to have it all figured out. Often, men are expected to be endlessly competent, confident, and self assured while usually not being offered a space to explore their thoughts and feelings about these pressures.

As a therapist who is passionate about supporting men, my work is aimed at helping each client discover what wholeness means to him. I help my male client’s explore their values and we discuss ways that they can live more in alignment with these values while also being their authentic selves.
